Between the ages of 3 and 8 you decided that...

Jack Canfield says, "Life is like a combination lock, if you know the right numbers, in the right order, regardless of your race, gender or anything else, you can have anything you want. It doesn’t matter who you are – the lock has to open for you."

Who remembers Muhammed Ali?? Am I dating myself? LOL  He says, “Impossible is a big word thrown around by small people who find it easier to live in a world they’ve been given than to explore the power they have to change it. Impossible is not a fact. It’s an opinion.”

What if you changed impossible to “I’m possible”?

Between the ages of 3 and 8, maybe 9, you decided you aren’t attractive, you’re not smart, you can't do math, people don’t like you, it’s not okay to ask for help, or to ask for anything at all…Our long held subconscious beliefs continue to get in our way even today.

Now consider this...the two most powerful words in our language are “I am”. Anything after those words, our subconscious takes as a command. Think about it. What words to you pair with I am?? Is it really what you want?? Do you really want to be fat, ugly, sick, tired, stressed, lonely, broke, unworthy, overwhelmed, exhausted...Remember, you get what you think about whether you want it or not...

Don't believe me?

Have any of you ever seen or tried Dr. Masaru Emoto's rice experiment where you talk positively to one jar of rice,  negatively to another and completely ignore the third jar for 30 days? We have done it and it is crazy! Check out his experiment by clicking here.  Try it for yourself! You will be amazed...

What do you need to let go of that your 8 year old self believed?? Grab your oils. Smell them right from the bottles. What ones are you drawn to? What ones do you not like at all? The ones you are drawn to, you need physically. The ones you cannot stand the smell of? Those are the ones your emotions need. Don’t set them down and walk away. Take the one that smells the worst to you. Put it on your feet. Put socks and shoes on after if you need to, or stuff them under your blankets.  But put the oil on. You can do this with more than one oil at a time, if you want, but at least use the one that is the worst for you. I promise, over time, if you continue to use it consistently, you will come to like or even love it, as the negative emotions are released and your cells are reprogrammed. I challenge you. Do it for at least a week, or a month, or longer. You will feel the shift. Then pick another oil…It’s truly that simple. You know my Stress Away story…

You are an amazing creation and you are here for a purpose. Don’t let another day go by without realizing that.

Want to know what my handy dandy blue books says for what oil to use for that emotion that keeps you awake at night?

Need a little positivity??

Do you ever feel like you are stuck in a “negativity rut''? Your thoughts travel to the worst case scenario almost immediately, your anger is quick to bubble to the surface, your outlook on life’s daily activities is a wee bit miserable, and the smallest problems can seem catastrophic...

My friend, you don't have to stay in that place. You can break that cycle and walk through that valley to the other side. It will take some practice. It will take some concentrated effort and re-training of your brain, but you can do it.

A more positive you is possible. Let’s look at a few new habits that will help you on the journey...

1) Identify negative thoughts and self-talk.

Most likely you don’t even realize you are living with a fixed mindset - it’s how you’ve always reacted; it’s how you’ve always viewed XYZ. When this negative, fixed mindset clouds your view, you are unable to even see the opportunities and blessings that life sends your way.

Awareness is the key. You won’t be able to move forward in becoming more positive without first identifying what needs to go.

Stop and think about how you respond to difficult situations, or circumstances. Grab a journal or notebook and write them down as they happen throughout the day.

Maybe your kiddos or spouse make a mess in the bathroom or leave crumbs all over the table. Write down how that makes you feel. Do you walk past a mirror and see your belly drooping over your pants? Maybe that coworker got the promotion you’ve been working for.

What thoughts cross your mind? Write them down.

Keep this journal with you and jot down your thoughts and reactions as you go about your day. Before bed, review them. Notice any patterns?

We have talked about this before…you get what you think about whether you want it or not...

2) Practice positive thinking.

After a few days you will start to see how you generally react or respond to life’s annoyances...now, how you can change that thinking??

Get out that journal or notebook and pick out a few phrases you caught yourself muttering over and over. Write those down on a new page, but leave room for a re-work.

Perhaps you heard yourself say, “There’s no way this will work.” Now take a moment to think about how you can turn this into a positive statement. How about, “I love a good challenge; I am going to approach this from a different angle.” See or feel the shift?

Let’s try another. Maybe you often think to yourself as you walk past the mirror, “I will never lose this weight. Who would love this?” Yikes - what a punch to your inner self! How can you stop this negative talk in its tracks? Try → “I can make small changes that will lead to healthy results. I am beautiful no matter the size of my pants.”

This exercise will challenge you to have a new perspective. Attack those negative thoughts and take them captive.

3) Start the day with gratitude and affirmations.

We have so many things to be thankful for, but we often overlook them or take them for granted. That soft bed you sleep in - blessing. Those clothes you wear every day - blessing. That car you drive - blessing. That paycheck you receive - blessing. That air you’re breathing in - blessing. See how the simple things in life, the ones we often consider as just “part of life”... we can count them all as blessings!

Starting the day off with a heart full of gratitude can really make an enormous impact on your attitude. According to a study done by The University of California and Washington University, expressing gratitude increases joy. Joy, in turn, increases gratitude. What a great cycle to be stuck in!

You can also set your intentions for the day by repeating affirmations aloud. Start telling yourself the story you want to be a part of. Use positive language; speak truth over yourself. Try these…

4) Utilize those oils to release negative emotions.

We know fragrances can have quite a powerful impact on your emotional state. As soon as you take a whiff, those molecules travel up your nose to your olfactory receptors, that then relay messages to other parts of your brain. Your sense of smell is the only one of the five senses that is directly linked to the limbic lobe of the brain, the emotional control center.

Did you know? Sesquiterpenes can increase blood oxygen levels in the brain. Guess where those are found? You guessed it - those essential oils sitting on your shelf.

So grab those oils and inhale or diffuse them! Find what works for you and use them consistently!

5) Invite in positivity through friends and humor.

Take a few moments today to reflect on the things you surround yourself with - your friends, family, coworkers, music, tv, social media, podcasts, books, etc. Are they positive?

Do you remember that old saying, “Garbage in, garbage out”? Same is true today. If you are surrounding yourself with negative influences, your inner thoughts and attitude will most certainly be negative.

Sift out the bad and start focusing on what positive influences you can begin implementing. If it’s a toxic relationship, take the steps required to set proper boundaries. If it’s something toxic on social media or perhaps gloomy, depressing music… change that! Remove it. Delete it. Do what it takes to set yourself up for success in this area.

Foster the positive relationships you do have. Play upbeat, uplifting music. Read books and listen to podcasts that inspire you, not give you nightmares. Watch comedy shows and laugh! Bring in so much positivity that there’s no room for negativity

6) Turn failures into lessons.

Maybe one of the most important things you take away from this is to turn failures into lessons.

You are not always going to get this “positivity thing” right. You will have “off” days, moments where you lose your cool, situations that put you in a funk. Don’t let them derail you…even when someone reminds you that you messed up…because they will…I promise...LOL

Take what happened and learn from it. Figure out how to avoid those situations or how to handle them more effectively the next time you encounter them. Break the cycle. Stay the course. Become the change you want to see.

Vitaflex...Have you heard of it?

Tell me, my friend, have you ever heard of Vitaflex?? I hadn’t either…but let me share part of what I have recently been certified in alongside Raindrop Technique.

Vitaflex, or “vitality through the reflexes”, is a tremendous tool that uses your body’s own balancing process to support healing and is an effective way to deliver the benefits of essential oils throughout your body. It is a safe, non-invasive technique that uses a rolling motion of the fingers on reflex points on the feet, hands and/or other areas on the body.

It is an ancient Tibetan healing methodology that was brought to the United States in the 1920s by Stanley Burroughs, that can be done with or without essential oils. Oils are normally used as they increase the technique’s effectiveness.

Voltages produced by Vitaflex create currents along the nerve pathways. Oils are also electrical in nature and Vitaflex helps move those healing molecules along those pathways. When a gap or malfunction, caused by toxins, damaged tissues or loss of oxygen, is found along the way, the oils and voltages jump-start that faulty electrical circuitry, helping to restore proper function.

There are 5000 Vitaflex points throughout your body, encompassing body and mind, that are capable of releasing many kinds of tension, congestion, and imbalances. Vita-Flex taps into and supports your body’s self-regulating system to allow healing.

While similar to reflexology, according to Tom Woloshyn, Vita-Flex is “a more extensive and comprehensive therapy because it is applied throughout many more areas of the body.” (Woloshyn, 2007) Whereas reflexology is only done on the feet, the vita-flex massage technique can be applied almost anywhere.

There are techniques to support clearing your colon (that also administers to your bladder, ovaries, prostate, sciatic nerve, spine, thyroid and brain); respiratory system; sinuses; head and brain (including eyes); ears; heart; lymphatic system and hip/atlas.

This technique, along with Raindrop, are performed using only Young Living oils as they are the only company that CARE has found that are grown, manufactured and/or packaged in the US that fulfill all the standards for Natural, Organic and 100% pure therapeutic grade oils. 98% of other brands are diluted, refined, adulterated with synthetics and/or are improperly grown, harvested and/or distilled. They may fulfill the standards for foods and fragrances, but not for healing applications like these.

If you see “100% USP grade oil” on the label of your favorite oil, please understand that USP equal US Pharmacopeia, which equals food grade, meaning it has been manipulated to fit a standard and by definition, it means the oil has been adulterated. Wrigley’s gum wants all of their spearmint gum to taste the same every single time you unwrap a stick and pop it into your mouth… Therapeutic oils cannot be played with in any way. They contain a life force and even just one little bit of synthetic ingredient poisons or even kills it. Purity matters.

Curious? Want to check it out or learn more? Simply hit “reply” and let me know! I offer this along with Raindrop Technique (more about that in another email!) and Ionic Foot Detoxes both here at the house and also at a local salon.

Looking forward to chatting with you soon!!

What on earth is Raindrop?

You've heard me mention Raindrop, but just what is it??

Raindrop stimulates every organ, muscle and bone of your body at the cellular level through the oils, supporting the immune system and bringing your body into structural and electrical balance, releasing toxins or disease wherever they may be lodged, even in your mind and emotions. It is truly incredible to experience.

There are many versions of Raindrop out there, but the same oils are always applied, just not always in the same sequence.  The first set of oils go in and open the cells. The second set act a bit like bouncers...cleaning up the junk and misinformation in your cells, while the third set of oils reprograms and corrects information in your cellular memory, restoring and maintaining both physical and emotional wellness.

Gary Young was exploring natural modalities for healing through a variety of healers, including the Lakota Indians. They would cross the Canadian border to enjoy the frequency of the Aurora Borealis, lift their hands in the air, plant their bare feet in the ground, and draw energy from both the ground and the lights while someone lightly stroked feathers up their back from the ground to the base of their skull.

As with VitaFlex, only Young Living oils are used as they are the only ones CARE knows of that are grown, manufactured and packaged in the US that meet all standards for Natural, Organic and 100% pure therapeutic oils. About 98% of other brands are diluted, refined, adulterated with synthetics and/or are improperly grown, harvested and/or distilled and may meet standards for food and fragrances, but not for healing applications. If you see “100% USP grade” on the label of your favorite oil, that is US pharmacopeia = manipulated to fit a standard = adulterated by definition. Remember, Wrigley’s wants all it’s spearmint gum to taste the same every single time you open a stick and pop it in your mouth…

Therapeutic grade oils, however, can’t be played with in any way. Chemical analysis is not the only property that an oil has. It also has electromagnetic and frequency properties. An oil can either contain life force or not, and therapeutic grade oils must contain that life force. Even just a little bit of synthetic material added to that living oil poisons it, diminishes it, and may even kill it all together.

Adulterated oils don’t work and can cause allergic reactions, however, pure steam distilled oils do not. You may see a detox reaction or have a psychosomatic response but not a true allergic reaction. You can even be allergic to the plant, but you cannot be allergic to the pure oil. How fascinating is that?? It's all in the chemistry...

Why the name Raindrop?? I drop the oils 6-8 inches above my hand before applying and vitaflexing them into the spinal points on your feet, as well as before feathering them onto your spine. This allows them to pass through your energy field, and mine, increasing their energetic frequency. Also, when we apply them from that distance above your back, it really can feel like raindrops...

Issues in your body and mind are in layers, like an onion. During a session only those layers you are ready and willing to release will be released, both physical and emotional. Raindrop can lead to permanent  healing but not all problems can be solved in a single session.

Benefits to your mind, body and emotions start taking place during a session and these adjustments can continue throughout the following week, while some benefits may be subtle and not noticed for awhile.

That's Raindrop in a nutshell! Coming soon I will be offering hands on workshops on both this and Vitaflex where you can learn how to do the techniques and you will experience each technique. I will also be offering a Healing Oils of the Bible class – fascinating information in that one!!

Until then, my schedule is filling up fast, so if you, or someone you know would like to experience this first hand, feel free to reach out. I am currently offering sessions at my home in Norridgewock and also at a salon in Skowhegan. The price varies depending on the location so reach out if you are ready! I am already booking well into September, so don’t wait!

12,000 to 60,000 a day?? For real??

You have 12,000 to 60,000 of these a day...any guesses what they are?

Thoughts.

And guess what?

80% of those thoughts are negative...and 95% play on repeat over and over and over...

This might just be why you can't stop thinking about that one critical comment sandwiched in among all the praise, or that one driver who cut you off out of the hundreds you encountered.

Dr. Rick Hanson says, "In effect, the brain is like Velcro for negative experiences but Teflon for positive ones...Most positive experiences flow through the brain like water through a sieve, while negative ones are caught every time."

Can you relate, too?? I thought you might...

There is good news though! You can create the new habit of being more positive. You always have a choice about how you look at something and how you think about it. What if you practiced more gratitude or started expecting the good to happen instead of always the negative?? One of my favorite lines is, "What's the BEST that could happen?"  That's a change, isn't it??

"Some people grumble that roses have thorns; I am grateful that thorns have roses."  - Alphonse Karr

"When every day seems the same, it is because we have stopped noticing the good things that appear in our lives." Paulo Coehlo

How about a few things to be grateful for to get you started? Family; friends; sight; hearing; touch; smell; taste; the ability to talk; your heart; lungs; immune system; hands; legs; mind; health; tears to help express your deepest emotions; fear so you know where to grow; sadness to appreciate happiness; rain; technology for making our vast world a little closer and communication easier; books; music to help you dance or sing it out when those emotions are running high; enemies who help you uncover those things you want to sweep under the rug; laughter; love...and how about you. Can you be grateful for you and what you bring to this wild and crazy world?

So, tell me, my friend, how will you choose to cultivate positivity today?? What are you going to let go through that sieve or slide off that Teflon?
