Spring is in the air...or is that pollen?

Mud, windy days, sunshine and rain, Spring is always a welcome time of renewal and freedom.

Are you ready for a little spring re-fresh??

How about oral sprays, self-care and mindfulness? That’s what this month’s Wellness Wednesdays have in store for you so, fill up those diffusers, grab your favorite wellness drink, and let’s get started!

Spring may be beautiful but it can be a bit of a challenge with those acute respiratory needs that pop up, too. These simple rollers and sprays will make the season much easier for you…and your nose…

Changing Seasons Oral Spray

Let me introduce you to your new springtime companion that will give your respiratory system a little TLC.

We know using oils topically and diffusing them are great health habits, but there is even more benefit in using them on the mucous membrane areas, including your mouth.

* 10mL glass spray bottle (https://amzn.to/3CAxsnI
* 1 drop each Lavender Vitality, Copaiba Vitality, Peppermint Vitality
* 2 drops Orange Vitality, Lemon Vitality
* Splash Thieves Mouthwash, optional
* Filtered water

Add all ingredients into a spray bottle and shake well. Spritz into your mouth daily or as desired!

Raindrop Oral Spray

This definitely won’t take the place of a Raindrop session, but sometimes your defenses need a little extra boost, and this combination of oils is a go-to when you need something a little ‘more.'

* 10mL glass spray bottle (https://amzn.to/3CAxsnI
* 1 drop each Oregano Vitality, Thyme Vitality, Peppermint Vitality, Basil Vitality
* 2 drops Lemon Vitality, Orange Vitality
* Splash Olive Oil
* Filtered Water

Add all ingredients into a spray bottle and shake well. Spritz into your mouth daily or as desired. Note: this one may tingle a bit, similar to OTC throat sprays.

Raindrop Roller

This roller is an easy way to harness the power of Raindrop with easy application. I prefer to layer the individual Raindrop oils on the bottoms of my feet, getting the most frequency out of each of the oils instead of averaging them together in a roller, but that’s my personal preference right now. I have used this roller for years and I was never disappointed.

* 10mL roller bottle (https://amzn.to/3H3jBZ4
* 10 drops each Oregano, Thyme, Basil, Marjoram, Cypress, Peppermint, Wintergreen, Aroma
Siez, Lavender, Valor
* Fill with carrier oil of choice

Apply over lymph nodes, along spine, bottom of the feet as desired

DIY Nasal Rinse

Grab your Neti-pot and whip up your own oil-infused sinus rinse!

* 10 drops Lavender essential oil
* 15 drops Copaiba essential oil
* 8 Tbsp of ultra fine salt (unprocessed, no iodine)

Mix well and store in a sealed glass jar. To use, dissolve 1 tsp of salt mixture into 1&1/2 cups of distilled water (or water from a Berkey filter or boil and cool some water), then add to your Neti pot and use as needed.

DIY Season's Change Capsules

Make using your Vitality oils easy with this simple hack!

* 2oz glass dropper bottle
* 30 drops each Lavender, Lemon, Peppermint, Copaiba Vitality
* Olive oil to desired dilution (about 2 Tbsp)

When you're ready to make a capsule, fill an empty vegetable capsule with a dropperful of the blend and take as desired.

Sinus Support Steam Pot

When you're needing some relief from the pressure that spring can cause your sinuses, give this tried and true trick a go!
* Bowl of very hot, steaming water
* 2-3 drops Peppermint Essential Oil
* 2-4 drops Dorado Azul Essential Oil

Add essential oils to the water (start with the lower end and add more as desired). Place a towel over your head and sit with your head above the steam bath to open the airways.

Happy Noses Roller

This is a great roller to use anytime you need some sinus relief, but I’ve heard it is pretty great after doing the sinus steam pot!

* 10mL roller bottle (https://amzn.to/3H3jBZ4
* 20 drops each Dorado Azul, Idaho Blue Spruce
* 10 drops DiGize, R.C.
* 5 drops Peppermint

Roll over your sinus cavities as desired. Take care when using near your eyes and dilute more if needed. If you get it too close to your eyes, simply apply coconut oil over the area.

A little respiration support for you...

From sniffles and sneezes and stuffiness, respiratory needs are a big one for most people, and we all need some help in this area from time to time. Whether it's seasonal air quality issues, blooming flowers or more acute needs, we have everything you need to know about respiratory support right here!

These oils and products are mainstays when it comes to all things respiratory. Grab a few and build your own support cabinet! For the oils, you can diffuse them alone or in any combination (see below for blend ideas!), make them into a roller, or even use them as dietary supplements as desired.

Thieves Chest Rub
This plant-based favorite is a much better option than conventional chest rubs. CLICK HERE to read an interesting article on your childhood chest rub... Thieves chest rub soothes sniffles, coughs, and congestion for your whole family and the super easy to use bottle doesn't even require you to get your hands messy!

R.C.
R.C. stands for "respiratory congestion." This blend contains: Spruce, Cyprus, and three types of Eucalyptus oils (E. globulus, E. radiata, and E. citriodora). This oil opens up your chest and is wonderful to diffuse with lemon to work up anything that is building up in the body.

Raven
A blend of ravintsara (camphor), Lemon, Wintergreen, Peppermint and Eucalyptus Radiata that is an incredible chest rub by itself. Raven contains the active ingredient found in OTC chest rubs, but it is in pure essential oil form, so you don't have to worry about petroleum or other toxins!

SniffleEase
This gentle, soothing blend of Eucalyptus, Palo Santo, R.C. is prediluted and perfect for little ones age two and older.  Don’t think this is only for the kiddos!! Some of my favorites are in the KidScents line. Don’t miss out on them!

Another great option for littles and not-so-littles is Peace & Calming. Soothing, peaceful and helps break up that chest congestion.

Breathe Again
This blend contains four different types of eucalyptus which are known for their ability to help relax airways and support the respiratory system. There is even an easy peasy pre-diluted roll on for more on the go convenience!

Lemon
Lemon is a wonderful natural mucolytic, making it a great choice for respiratory support! Cleansing and purifying, it also supports your immune system, so you get added benefits when using it for respiratory needs.

To make these into rollers, triple the recipe (or more, up to 60 drops) for a 10mL roller bottle, add carrier and voila! Roll onto the wrists, neck, chest, back or where desired.

After School: 4 drops each Thieves, R.C., Lemon

Happy Noses: 4 drops each Lemon, Purification, Lavender

Breathe Easy: 5 drops Raven, 4 drops Lavender, 3 drops Dorado Azul

Sniffle Ease: 4 drops Raven or R.C., 3 drops Frankincense, 3 drops Idaho Blue Spruce, 2 drops Lemon

Immune Boost: 4 drops Oregano, 3 drops each Lemon, Frankincense, 2 drops Lavender

Fall DIY fun for young and not so old ;)

It's the season of cinnamon spice, pumpkins, and your favorite hoodie! The air has a chill, the leaves start falling, and the summer season winds down. My favorite time of year...

Do you love to DIY?? This is for you. But, if you are like me, and diy isn't your favorite thing on a fall day, stick with me anyway...there are some fun things in here others may enjoy - feel free to share or let your kiddos make some of these! There is even a special activity for those favorite littles in your life...

Halloween Diffuser Cauldron or Autumn Pumpkin
Here is a simple and fun seasonal decor using your diffuser + favorite fall oils!
You will need:
  • Your diffuser
  • A plastic decorative cauldron or galvanized pumpkin
  • Orange & Clove essential oils
    Poke a hole on the side/ bottom of the cauldron/pumpkin, if plastic, for the diffuser's cord. If using metal, simply set the diffuser in and lift the cord out the back. Fill with water, add oils, turn on. Add spider web or tissue paper on top of the cauldron as desired!

  • Pumpkin Succulent Diffuser
    Create a cute, fun and festive centerpiece with a pumpkin, some succulents and essential oils!
    • Plastic pumpkins - real work as well but don't last as long
    • Potting soil
    • Small succulents
    • Natural materials - wood slices, Spanish moss, small pine cones, wood rings, etc. (find them at the craft store)
    • Essential oils of choice
      Simply cut the top off your pumpkin and scoop out the insides if you're using a real one. Fill about 3/4 with soil, then plant 2-3 small succulents into the top. Add moss, wood slices and rings, small pinecones, anything fall and festive that will soak in essential oils. Add 3-4 drops of oil to the porous materials for a 'diffuser' or spritz with a DIY room spray (witch hazel + water + EOs) every few days! *NOTE: If you use a real pumpkin, this will only last about a month at most. Using a plastic or ceramic pumpkin will extend the life of the diffuser/succulents indefinitely.

  • Festive Wreath Diffuser
    Create your own festive wreath (and switch it out each season!) with some florals and essential oils.
  • DIY Scented Pine Cones
    This is a fun one because you get yourself outside and collect pinecones in various shapes and sizes. If you have kids they will love doing this with you!
    • Preheat oven to 200°
    • Line an old baking sheet with aluminum foil
    • Place pinecones on baking sheet
    • Bake pinecones for 30 minutes
    • Remove from oven and let cool completely
    • In a ceramic, glass or stainless bowl add pinecones, then add essential oils of your choice about 30 total drops. Seal the bowl & shake so that the oils soak into the pinecones. Leave the bowl in a cool dark place for at least one week. The longer you can leave the bowl covered the better your pinecones will be scented.
    • Now they are ready to be displayed on your favorite tray!

  • Cinnamon Pinecone Fire Starters
    This craft is a very simple one that kids LOVE! It starts with gathering pine cones, which is always a fun fall task.
    • Pine cones in various sizes
    • Yarn of desired color (or even dryer lint!)
    • Essential oils
      • Gather your pine cones and spray with diluted Thieves Cleaner, then let sit overnight to dry. Once dry, wrap the yarn around the pine cones as desired. You can wrap all of it in the center or cover the whole thing - it's up to you! Just weave the yarn through the individual ‘leaves' of the pine cone. Drop a few drops of Cinnamon Bark essential oil onto the yarn and let it sit overnight. Store then next to the fireplace, and add 2-3 to the wood when starting a fire!
Pumpkin Preserving Spray
Do your pumpkins get eaten by squirrels or rot super quickly after you put them on your porch? Save them with this super easy DIY!
To a 16 oz glass spray bottle add:
  • One capful of Thieves Household Cleaner
  • 10 drops of Tea Tree.
  • Fill the rest of the way with water!
    Use this to clean your pumpkins once before putting them all out (and try to keep them out of direct sunlight so they last even longer!), then spray as needed to preserve them as long as possible. Spritz your pumpkins every other day to keep the squirrels away!!

  • Pumpkin Pie Play DoughAn activity for the kids with the option of being free of harmful dyes and ingredients and leaves the house and their little hands smelling AMAZING plus it has immune boosting properties! You can make this together, super easy, then let them play the crisp, fall day away!!
    • 2 cups cornstarch
    • 1 cup Kidscents lotion
    • 4 drops Cardamom
    • 2 drops Orange
    • 1 drop Cinnamon bark
    • 1 drop Clove
    • Mix all the ingredients together and let their imaginations run wild!

      Next week we'll get you in the kitchen and bringing in all those smells of fall!!

Looking for a little adrenal support?

My current best friends…

My chiropractor told me my adrenals are not happy. My body and mind agree.

Are you in survival mode?

Are you only giving yourself the leftovers?

Do you only pour out without taking care of yourself?

Feeling defeated, exhausted, overwhelmed, like a victim…or a maid?

Adrenals are small almond-shaped organs that sit on top of your kidneys. They maintain and boost your energy, kind of like a car shifting into first, second, and third gear as you go about your day. They also help your body survive during times of stress.

But they aren't meant to always be firing. They are only supposed to jump in as needed, however, too much caffeine, lack of sleep, bottled up emotions, that schedule of yours, hormonal imbalance, your diet, and always pushing yourself to the max can damage them, causing them to wear out, pushing you into ‘survival mode', physically and emotionally.

When the things you are fighting or running from are inside of you, you're truly fighting a losing battle.
