Do you love it or hate it?

Are you ready for it? The season to freshen everything up and jump into that spring cleaning? Yeah...me either. LOL Seems a bit pointless when you have a dirt driveway that turns to mud, but...I even bought a new mat for in front of the door to collect the mess. Did I put it down yet? Nope. Why? It will get dirty...just a little unsolicited sneak peek in to my head... ;)

How about some easy peasy citrus-infused DIYs?? Will they help get you motivated to do the cleaning? Or will you just enjoy creating them? ;)

DIY Cleaning Fizzies
Just what are cleaning fizzies? Think of them as your cleaning sidekick. They can tackle the toilet bowl for you or help you knock out that sink full of dirty pots and pans. Best sidekick ever! Homemade cleaning fizzies are easy to make and even easier to use.
  • 1 cup baking soda
  • ½ cup citric acid
  • ½ cup cornstarch
  • 4 teaspoons water
  • 40 drops Lemon essential oil or Thieves or Citrus Fresh essential oil blends
  • 3 teaspoons V-6 Vegetable Oil Complex
  • Ice cube tray or candy mold
  • In a large bowl, combine all dry ingredients and mix evenly. In a separate bowl, combine water, essential oils or blends, and V-6. Pour liquids into the large bowl and mix together until combined. Use mixture to fill ice cube tray or candy mold about three fourths full. If mixture expands and spills over mold, gently repack into the mold. Let sit overnight to dry in room temperature area. When dry, pop tablets out and store in a glass jar. To Use: place a tablet in the toilet bowl, hard-to-clean bottles, or sink full of dishes to help clean and deodorize. Let sit in bowl, bottle, or sink for 20–30 minutes to fizz and dissolve. Once dissolved, flush or rinse out.

Let's do some self care, shall we?  It's more important than we think...you can't give to others if you are trying to pour from a cup with a hole in it...

Not sure about winter where you are, but it has been making its presence known here for a few days now... I love how life slows down this time of year (well, at least it's supposed to...), a crackling warm fire, baking, and settling in early.  You??

If you love do-it-yourself fun, this is for you!

COZY WINTER HOME DIY Evergreen Essence Room Spray
  • 15 drops Evergreen Essence Essential Oil Blend
  • 10 drops Vanilla Oleoresin
  • 10 drops Tangerine Essential Oil
  • Add essential oils to a 2oz glass spray bottle, add a splash of witch hazel & top with water! Spritz on all the things!
DIY Frosted Forest Hand Soap
  • Foaming hand soap bottle or recycle a YL one!
  • 2 Tbsp Liquid Castile Soap
  • 10 drops each Peppermint, Idaho Blue Spruce essential oil
  • 5 drops Vetiver essential oil
  • 1 tsp Vitamin E oil
  • Add essential oils, Vitamin E oil and Castile Soap to the bottle, then top with water leaving 1" at the top
Sugar & Spice Wool Dryer Balls
There's something about the smell of warm fresh laundry fresh from the dryer - especially when combining Thieves Laundry Soap and essential oil infused wool dryer balls!

  • Organic wool dryer balls
  • Ylang ylang, Vanilla & Cinnamon Bark pre-mixed in a dropper bottle, about 10-15 drops of each
  • Add 4-5 drops of essential oils to each dryer ball.
  • Let the dryer balls air dry for about an hour or to speed up the process you can dry them alone. This will allow the oil to absorb into the wool and not transfer to your clothes.
  • When it's time to dry your clothes - toss the dryer balls into the dryer with your clothing. Refresh the oils every 4-5 loads or more often if you prefer a stronger scent.
Winter Spice Orange Garland
This is one of our favorite things to do every year. It is beautiful, smells amazing, adds a lovely touch to any room and is so easy to make. It may be a holiday tradition for some, but leaving it up or making it in the new year is a great way to add a touch of brightness to your home!

  • About 5 oranges or a mix of oranges, Clementines and grapefruit for varied sizes and colors
  • Essential oils: Cinnamon Bark, Vanilla, Clove, Believe, Thieves
  • Fresh cranberries and cinnamon sticks (optional)
  • Slice your oranges in circles to ¼ to ½ inch in thickness and arrange them on a non-stick surface or parchment paper. Pour 2-3 drops of essential oils on each slice, then set them in a cool oven and turn the temperature onto the lowest setting your oven will allow. (If your oven does not go below 300, set it there and use a wooden spoon to prop the oven open slightly and allow some heat to dissipate.)
  • Leave the slices in the oven for about 5 hours, then shut the oven off and leave the oranges in there overnight or until completely cool. They will be fairly dry, but will continue to dry out over time. You don't want to over dry them in the oven because they can start to burn!
  • Once they are dry, string them with some twine, alternating with a few varying sized slices and a cranberry or two, a tied cinnamon stick, whatever you like!

Let me introduce myself!

Hey, hey, my friend!

I'm the sometimes overwhelmed wife of Dana, homeschooling momma of 11 and Mayme to 15, "expertly" spinning all the plates...until another plate, or two (or ten) get tossed into the chaos...or a plate that was plastic this morning suddenly turns into fine China...can you relate?

A recovering perfectionist giving myself grace to do B- work, make mistakes and maybe even look a bit foolish on rare occasions...

An introverted extrovert who firmly believes dark chocolate makes the world go 'round...(the darker the better because fewer kiddos want to share it with me...).

Everyone has a story leading to where they are today.  Mine started when I was a teen, struggling with migraines. I just dealt with them, not even questioning why. I just knew that a chocolate éclair from Dunkin Donuts wasn’t the right answer, nor was that Pepsi I loved so much…

For years I pushed myself through the days, gritting my teeth to bear the pain a little better, taking care of my littles, then crashing into a dark, quiet room to sleep the pain away.

I tried a few different things, but I didn’t start seeing improvement until I took a good look at what I was eating. I started slowly taking those toxins and additives out of my diet…MSG, artificial flavors, natural flavors, white sugar, enriched flour, fake sweeteners, artificial colors and those other "ingredients" I couldn’t pronounce.

Then I started looking at ingredients in our personal care and household products...that was an eye-opening adventure. If you think everything allowed to be sold in the stores is safe, we need to chat...

As I learned better, I did better and I completely swapped out all the toxic products in our home, keeping my family above the wellness line, helped balance our hormones, along with our emotions, even through birth trauma, loss, anxiety, a world-wide pandemic and more.

Continuing my journey, I am now a Licensed Holistic Practitioner, Licensed Spiritual Healer, Certified Raindrop Technique Specialist, and will be a Certified CARE Instructor this summer.

Knowing that friends are family we get to choose for ourselves, I am creating a thriving community of powerful, incredible, plate-spinning women. There is a seat for you at our table, where hearts are touched, souls are healed, walls are torn down, and best lives are lived on our way to wellness, purpose and abundance...guilt free. Come. Join us. Pull up a chair. Get comfy. Let's journey together.

What's the best that could happen?
